Development of a training course on commercial mushroom production for farmer groups in Hat Kham Subdistrict, Nong Khai Province

Abstract

The purposes of this study were: 1) develop a training curriculum on commercial mushroom production for farmers in Hat Kham Subdistrict, Nong Khai Province; 2) examine the outcomes of the implementation of the training curriculum; and 3) investigate participants’ satisfaction with the training curriculum. This study employed a research and development design. The sample consisted of 30 individuals interested in commercial mushroom production, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included: 1) the training curriculum, 2) a knowledge and competency assessment, and 3) a satisfaction questionnaire. Data obtained were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, content analysis, and paired-sample t-test.

          The research findings were as follows: 1) the developed training curriculum on commercial mushroom production for farmers in Hat Kham Subdistrict, Nong Khai Province demonstrated a high level of appropriateness in its components; 2) the post-training scores were significantly higher than the pre-training scores at the .05 level, with participants achieving a good level of competency; and 3) participants’ satisfaction with the training curriculum was rated at a high level on average.
