The Format Of Ordination Events In Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

this research have a purpose  for  1 . Study the situation, costs, beliefs  of Traditions of ordination in Chiang Mai analytical  2. Studyf  knowledge set  and make proposals for the development of the appropriate ordination ceremony at present which is an exploratory research by using tools.

1. A survey of opinions on the current ordination ceremony , by online and documentary surveys which is an exploratory research by using tools.


2. Individual in-depth interviews for assemble the preparation of the proposal and guidelines for the development of an appropriate ordination ceremony in the population that is domiciled in Chiang Mai such as monks, ordination hosts, community leaders, and people 460 person by using descriptive statistical analysis.

            The results showed that , Ordination is also a tradition that people still like to compensate for the kindness of parents but the duration of the ordination is less than in the past  due to the obligation to go out to work to take care of the family , The cost of each ordination is set between 1,500 baht and 300,000 baht . Most of them cost about 10,000 baht or 30.83 percent   followed by 5,000 baht or 23.33% .  Part of it is the cost of raising beer and alcoholic beverages about 3,000 baht or 17.50%.

and 5,000 baht or 5.83%. In addition, it was found that the current ordination that should be adjusted accordingly ,  be simple and  reduce wasteful expenses such as Alcoholic beverages, beer and music performances.  should emphasize that the ordained to study the true principles of Dharma to be used for self-development and being a good Buddhist.
