Phra 5RS WASTE MANAGEMENT MODEL WITH COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION NONG PA KRANG SUB-DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY MUEANG CHIANG MAI DISTRICT CHIANG MAI PROVINCE

Abstract

This study aims 1) To study the model community of waste management according to environmental conservation principles 5Rs. 2) to develop waste management activities based on the 5Rs principles with participation from Nong Pa Khrang Subdistrict Municipality, Muang Chiang Mai District; and 3) to present a waste management model based on the 5Rs principles with participation from Nong Pa Khrang Municipality, Chiang Mai Province. Data collection tools include structured in-depth interviews and group discussions with entrepreneurial representatives. and community leaders using descriptive content analysis methods.
The results of the research showed that: 1) The study discovered that model communities for waste management based on the 5Rs principle with community participation had similar management methods, which used behavioral stimulation processes to inspire and create awareness and environmental activities for communities, such as waste reduction, repairing and reusing damaged materials, reusing renewable materials, and avoiding the use of hard-to-degrade materials.
2) The following steps are involved in creating trash management operations based on the 5Rs principles with community participation: Exploring the neighborhood context to learn about and comprehend the situation. Organizing a brainstorming session to create a prototype community that will serve as a guideline for the design and development of waste management activities. Planning and implementing waste management operations in accordance with the 5Rs philosophy through training to teach both theory and practice. Monitoring and analyzing the community committee’s and affiliated agencies’ waste management efforts.
3) The waste management model based on the 5Rs principle through community participation includes: Waste management by raising awareness at the household level Waste management through economic incentives and waste management through integrated cooperation between governments.
