Abstract

Thesis entitled “An analysis of the Buddhist Ethical Criterion Regarding Live Streaming of Monks on Social Medias” is off 3 objectives : 1. to study the Live Streaming of Monks on Social Media, 2. to study Buddhist Ethical Criterion Regarding the Live Streaming of Monks on Social Media, and 3. to analyze Buddhist Ethical Criterion Regarding the Live Streaming of Monks on Social Media. Its results to show that :
1) Live Streaming of monks are very popular. Especially, using Facebook. There are both advantages and disadvantages. They do the live streaming must prepare themselves very well and monk’s proper behavior.
2) There are two criteria for judging by Buddhist Ethics, Major and Minor : There are the main criteria such as the 5 Precepts, 10 Wholesome course action, the 8 Fold paths, 3 Wholesome roots, 3 Unwholesome , 75 Sekhiyavatara , 6 Indriyasamvara, 4 Principle Citations, 3 Benefits, and 5 Qualities of Teacher . While the Minor criteria are scholar’s acceptance and others effects of actions on one's own benefit or harm.
3) Analysis of Buddhist ethical criterions judgment is divided into 2 cases: in the first case, positive, the monks follow a suitable manner who had good intentions in propagating the Dhamma. They had a good communication method and good results that had been praised by Buddhists. The live streaming was achieved the set objectives. Therefore, we made decision to do Buddhist ethics. In the second case, negative : the monks did not follow unsuitable manner, the monks had good intentions in propagating the Dhamma, but they had a poor communication method and there were both good and bad results, as they had received both praise and criticism from Buddhists. Live streaming did not achieve their intended objectives. Therefore, we decided that they didn’t follow the Buddhist ethics.
