ECONOMIC FACTORS AND FINANCIAL PLANNING AFFECTING HOUSEHOLD DEBT AFTER THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN HATYAI, SONGKHLA
Abstract
This quantitative research utilizes a questionnaire as the data collection tool, employing a 5-point rating scale. The sampling method is purposive sampling, with a sample size of 303 individuals from Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, specifically those who have incurred increased household debt following the COVID-19 pandemic (since 2019). The study aims to examine economic factors and financial planning's impacts on household debt post-COVID-19 in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. The findings indicate: 1) Economic factors, including inflation and unemployment, significantly influence household debt accumulation after the Covid-19 pandemic among residents of Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, at a statistical significance level of 0.05 and 0.10 respectively. 2) Financial planning, including income-expenditure planning, significantly affect household debt accumulation after the Covid-19 pandemic among residents of Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, at a statistical significance level of 0.10.
