The Preparation for an Aging Society among People in Nonglum Subdistrict, Vajirabarami District, Phichit Province

Abstract
This research article aims to study: 1) the preparedness of the population for entering an aging society, 2) the level of awareness regarding elderly welfare rights, 3) the comparison of factors influencing preparedness for entering an aging society based on personal characteristics, and 4) the strategies for preparing the population in Nonglum Subdistrict, Wachirabarami District, Phichit Province, for entering an aging society. The study adopts a quantitative research methodology, with the target population consisting of 350 people in Nonglum Subdistrict. Data were collected using a questionnaire, and the statistical analyses employed include frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and one-way ANOVA.
The findings indicate that: 1) the overall preparedness for entering an aging society is at a high level, 2) awareness of elderly welfare rights is at a high level, with 72.39% of the population aware, 3) a comparison of personal characteristics reveals that differing occupations have a statistically significant impact on preparedness for entering an aging society at a 0.05 level (P=.017), and 4) the population should be made more aware of the importance of preparation for aging society in all aspects starting from working age. Moreover, raising awareness and receiving support from government agencies, community organizations, and families will be key factors in enhancing the preparedness of the population for entering an aging society.
