Management Guidelines for Solving Problems of Arable Land and Housing: a Case Study of Barn Mai Lanna Village, Khuangpro Sub-District, Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

This research article aims to (1) examine the management of arable land and housing issues, (2) the implementation of the 4 Sangha Vatthu principles in addressing these problems, and (3) The guidelines for land remediation management, which are enforced by the regulations set by the National Land Policy Committee, are disseminated to the residents of Ban Mai Lanna area in Khuang Pao Subdistrict, Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province. The study utilized a combined method research approach with a sample population of 80 individuals from Mai Lanna Village. Data collection was done using questionnaires, and analysis involved determining frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations, as well as examining relationships using Pearson's correlation coefficient. Additionally, qualitative research was conducted through in-depth interviews with a group of 13 key informants to synthesize descriptive content data.

The findings of the study revealed that (1) The management of issues related to arable land and residential areas is deemed to be highly effective. Upon closer examination of each component, it becomes evident that sustainable land use and management practices are crucial in maintaining harmony in land and residential management through collaboration among all stakeholders. In terms of land utilization, the NCTC adheres to governmental regulations to optimize benefits and ensure equity, including the allocation of land for marginalized populations. Overall, the performance in this area is commendable. (2) The application of the four Sanghahavatthu principles to address agricultural land and housing issues is of utmost importance. In essence, this approach operates at the pinnacle of effectiveness and significance. (3) Land remediation management guidelines are being enforced in the Ban Mai Lanna area by the policies set forth by the National Land Policy Committee. Effective land management necessitates the enforcement of policies related to agricultural land and housing through the establishment of committees or a joint service center to address land management issues promptly and efficiently.
