The Development of Operational Efficiency of Local Administrative Organizations in the Khiri Rat Nikhom District of Surat Thani Province

Abstract

The research article aims to investigate (1) the operational efficiency of local administrative organizations, (2) analyze the factors influencing operational efficiency, and (3) enhance the operational efficiency of local administrative organizations in Khiri Rat Nikhom District, Surat Thani Province. The study utilizes a mixed methods approach, with quantitative data collected through a questionnaire from 400 personnel of local government organizations in the specified area. The research tool employed in this study is a questionnaire with a confidence value of 0.93. Statistical analysis techniques such as percentage, mean, and standard deviation are used, along with factor analysis and structural equation model analysis. Qualitative research methods involve in-depth interviews with 10 key informants for analysis of descriptive content information.

The findings of the study reveal that, (1) the overall operational efficiency level of local administrative organizations is high. (2) Factors influencing operational efficiency are identified, with a consistent causal model of factors contributing to the development of operational efficiency in the specified area. The criteria for this consistency include chi-square value (x²)=3.76, df=2, P=0.15, GFI=1, AGFI=0.98, RMR=0.012, and RMSEA=0.047. The development of work efficiency in local government organizations is categorized into four key aspects: organizational membership behaviour, goal achievement, operational aspects, and administration. These findings can serve as a framework for enhancing the operational efficiency of local government organizations in Khiri Rat Nikhom District, Surat Thani Province. The study proposes the GAPA Model, which emphasizes Good organizational membership, goal achievement, and operational and administrative aspects for further improvement and development.
