SOCIAL SUPPORT FACTORS AFFECTING THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE ELDERLY IN BAN KHLONG SUB-DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY, MUEANG DISTRICT, PHITSANULOK PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aimed to study social support factors and the quality of life of the elderly, and the influence of social support factors on the quality of life of the elderly in Ban Khlong Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang District, Phitsanulok Province. The results showed that: 1) the overall level of social support factors among the elderly was high; 2) the overall level of quality of life among the elderly was high; and 3) the influence of social support factors on the quality of life of the elderly had a very high correlation (rxy = .941). The multiple regression analysis of the quality of life of the elderly showed a predictive power of 88.50%, and the hypothesis testing revealed that social support factors had a statistically significant positive effect on the quality of life of the elderly at a significance level of .01.
