Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) examine the components and needs of teachers’ digital leadership in Society 5.0; 2) design and develop a digital leadership model for teachers in Society 5.0; and 3) study the effectiveness of the model in enhancing the digital leadership competencies of secondary school teachers in the northeastern region. This research and development (R&D) study was conducted in three phases: Phase I focused on investigating leadership components and essential needs; Phase II involved model design and development; and Phase III emphasized model evaluation, application, and effectiveness. Research instruments included interviews, a questionnaire on teachers’ digital leadership in Society 5.0, and an assessment form. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The findings revealed that the current overall condition of teachers’ digital leadership was at a high level, while the desired condition was at the highest level. The prioritized components of need, from highest to lowest, were: digital adaptability, digital literacy and skills, innovative digital learning management, digital vision, learner development for Society 5.0, and digital ethics and responsibility. The developed model for enhancing teachers’ digital leadership in Society 5.0 consisted of five elements: principles, objectives, development content, development process, and measurement and evaluation. The effectiveness study showed that through authentic practice and after-action review, teachers’ digital leadership demonstrated continuous improvement. The seventh evaluation indicated an excellent level of performance, with a progress rate of 66.12%.
