Abstract

This research aimed to study the learning achievement in Western Music History using Generative AI as a teaching medium for ninth-grade students and to investigate their satisfaction with this learning approach. The findings revealed that the average pre-test learning achievement score was 9.27 (30.90%), which increased significantly to 22.06 (73.53%) in the post-test. A dependent t-test (t = 31.02, p = 0.000) confirmed that the learning outcomes were statistically and significantly higher after using Generative AI, thereby supporting the first research hypothesis. Furthermore, the students expressed the highest level of satisfaction with the measurement and evaluation aspects of the learning medium ("X" ̅ = 4.89). Specifically, the highest-rated item was the provision of feedback for self-improvement ("X" ̅ = 4.91), followed by clear evaluation criteria and guided answers to help them understand their learning progress ("X" ̅ = 4.88).
