Abstract

This study aimed to (1) assess the level of knowledge and understanding of the Emergency Decree on Technology Crime Prevention and Suppression B.E. 2566 among undergraduate students at Kasetsart University, (2) compare it across demographic factors, and (3) examine its relationship with media usage frequency. The sample comprised 305 undergraduate students enrolled in the second semester of the 2023 academic year. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including t-tests, One-Way ANOVA, Scheffé tests, Chi-square, and Cramér’s V at a .05 significance level. Results showed a high overall level of knowledge and understanding (mean = .76, S.D. = .19). All four dimensions—information reporting, suspension of transactions, disclosure and exchange of information, and general provisions—were rated high, with information reporting highest (mean = .85, S.D. = .24). Knowledge and understanding differed significantly by faculty but not by sex or academic year. Media usage frequency had a weak positive correlation with knowledge and understanding (Cramér’s V = .11). The findings indicate that faculty background and exposure to media play roles in shaping students’ awareness of the Emergency Decree on Technology Crime Prevention and Suppression.
