SYNTHESIS OF RESEARCH RELATED TO CARL ORFF’S APPROACH: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW
Abstract
This research aims to synthesize studies related to music teaching based on Carl Orff's approach through a systematic review. A total of four pieces of literature were found that met the criteria set for this study. The researcher focused on reviewing theses published between 2015 and 2025 within the Thai Library Integrated System (ThaiLIS) database. Once the relevant literature was identified, the synthesis was conducted by categorizing the findings into three main aspects: 1) General Information 2) Research Methodology 3) Study Objectives. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The synthesis results revealed that four theses met the criteria, published in the years 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2021 and originated from four universities: Rajabhat Bansomdejchaopraya University, Chulalongkorn University, Naresuan University, and Kasetsart University. Regarding research methodology, two studies employed qualitative research methods, one study used a mixed-methods approach, and one study followed a research and development (R&D) approach. The study objectives included exploring fundamental information and experimental results, developing activities and exercises, evaluating satisfaction levels, and presenting a set of practice exercises. The findings of this study highlight key research aspects related to music teaching based on Carl Orff's approach. These insights can serve as references for future research in the field of musiceducation.
