THE DEVELOPMENT OF READING COMPREHENSION ABILITY AND READING ENGAGEMENT OF PRATHOMSUKSA 4 STUDENTS USING HERRINGBONE TECHNIQUE AND MORAL ENHANCEMENT STORY
Abstract
The purposes of this research were to 1) compare students' reading comprehension abilities before and after using learning management, 2) study the difference in the average scores of students' reading engagement before and after learning management, 3) study the difference in the average values of students' basic morality before and after learning management and 4) student's opinion on learning activities. The samples were 11 students from Prathomsuksa 4 of Wat Chak Makrut School in the first semester of the academic year 2024. They were selected through simple random sampling. The research instruments were: 1) lesson plans,
2) a comprehension test 3) a basic morality test 4) reading engagement, and 5) a questionnaires on students' opinions on learning activities. Data were analyzed using mean (M), standard deviation of items (SD), and dependent t-test. The research findings were as follows: The research findings were as follows: 1) Students' reading comprehension ability after instruction was significantly higher than before instruction at the .05 level. 2) Students' reading engagement after instruction was significantly higher than before instruction at the .05 level. 3) Students' basic morality after instruction was significantly higher than before instruction at the .05 level.
4) Students' opinions on learning management activities were at a high level of agreement.
