Abstract

The objective of this research is to study artificial intelligence (AI) applications in the justice systems of other countries. This qualitative study focuses on the operational processes of AI systems used in foreign justice systems, analyzed through structured interviews. The target population for this study includes international companies developing AI systems for speech-to-text technology, specifically the company TERES (Technology Enabled RESolution) in India, along with document-based research. The findings indicate that TERES’s AI model is utilized to transcribe testimonies during high court proceedings in India, converting speech to text in just a fraction of a second, effectively operating in real time. The text appears on digital screens within 2-3 seconds, as human staff are still required for accuracy checks. In addition to its speed, the model stands out for its content transparency, as all conversations during trials or witness examinations are recorded. This feature benefits retrospective review and supports a democratic approach to justice processes.
