AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT TO HIGH-VALUE AGRICULTURE OF AGRIBUSINESS ENTREPRENEURS

Abstract

This research aims to study personal characteristics, agricultural business characteristics, the decision making in innovation and technology, high-value agricultural knowledge, and agricultural business management to elevating the business to high-value agriculture and finding the factors related agricultural business management. The Example was 142 agricultural business entrepreneurs. Collected data by questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean, Chi-square and correlation coefficient. The results indicated that agricultural business entrepreneurs were male with and average age of 47 years. They had an average 17 years of experience in agriculture. They graduated with a bachelor's degree and had an average 7 years of high-value agricultural business. The most type of business were collected and processed. Mostly do agricultural business/farming by using human labor. They invested to start agricultural businesses less than 500,000 baht and have fixed asset value less than 1,000,000 baht. They gain the profit range between 1-1,000,000 baht/year. Agribusiness entrepreneurs have a high level of innovation/technology decision making. They had a high level of high value agriculture knowledge. They managed agribusiness is quite good. The factors related agricultural business management to elevating the business to high-value agriculture are high value agricultural knowledge and innovation/technology decision making and the agricultural business management
