Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the factors affecting the debt repayment behavior of real estate borrowers in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, using data from a sample of 311 people collected via an online questionnaire. The results of the study found that the factors affecting debt repayment behavior were personal factors (real estate loan borrowers), economic factors, financial institution factors, debtor factors, financial skills factors, and financial motivation factors. It also found that debt repayment flexibility and support from banks play an important role in reducing non-performing loans (NPLs) in the financial system. This study will help understand the debt repayment behavior of real estate borrowers in the area and can be used to develop credit policies that are appropriate for the borrowers’ needs in the future.
