FACTORS AFFECTING THE POTENTIAL OF BASIC BASKETBALL COACHES
Abstract
The aim of this research was to study the factors affecting the potential of basic basketball coaches. The sample group in this study consisted of 100 basic basketball coaches who had completed training by the Basketball Sport Association of Thailand, obtained through stratified random sampling by region. The research instrument used in this study was a questionnaire on factors affecting the potential of basic basketball coaches. Data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results show that 1) Factors including executive policy, motivation, social support, time management, facilities, and the potential of basic basketball coaches were at a high level. 2) There were 3 factors that significantly affected the potential of basic basketball coaches at the .05 level, ranked from most to least influential: social support (X3), motivation (X2), and facilities (X5). These 3 factors combined could predict 68.40% of the potential of basic basketball coaches. The prediction coefficients were used to write the following equations:
Equations in raw score form Y' = 1.129 + .355 (X3) + .218 (X2) + .156 (X5)
Predictive equation in the form of standard scores Z'Y = .439 (ZX3) + .262 (ZX2) + .203 (ZX5)
