Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) study the level of public expectations towards government administration, 2) examine public expectations towards government administration classified by personal demographic factors, and 3) investigate problems and suggest solutions regarding public expectations towards government administration. This quantitative research employed a sample of 50 residents in Bangkok. The research instrument was a 5-point rating scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and F-test.

When classified by aspect, all aspects were rated at high levels, ranked from highest to lowest as follows: economic development, human resource and social development, public health development, natural resource and environmental conservation, urban development and management, and infrastructure development, respectively. 2) Personal factors including gender, occupation, and average monthly income, except for age and education level, influenced public expectations towards government administration. 3) The research suggests that the government should consider the level of public expectations in its administration according to citizens' expectations.
