Abstract

Fear and trust are integral components of social psychology in coexisting within communities, and understanding the relationship between these two elements can help enhance the quality of life of the population in the country. This research aims to investigate the factors affecting fear of crime and trust towards the community among residents in Phra Khanong district, Khlong Toei, Bangkok. The study aims to analyze the level of relationship between fear of crime and community trust, along with causal factors to understand social phenomena and relationship patterns. The research method is based on mixed-methods, involving qualitative data collection through fieldwork to study physical characteristics, social conditions, and various contextual backgrounds. Additionally, quantitative data will be collected through questionnaires to provide comprehensive answers and evidence covering all dimensions. The expected ideal outcome from this research process is an understanding of fear of crime and trust towards the community among residents. Information gathered from the case study area will be analyzed to develop insights into the context of urban communities in Thailand. This will offer recommendations to strengthen trust and reduce fear of crime. The research will conclude which factors help reduce fear of crime and which factors contribute to enhancing community trust, aiming to achieve the aforementioned objectives.
