SELF-ESTEEM AND PERCEIVED WORKLOAD PREDICTING JOB BURNOUT OF PROVINCIAL POLICE REGION 8

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to investigate 1) levels of self-esteem, perceived workload, and job burnout of provincial police region 8 2) relationship between self-esteem and job burnout of provincial police region 8 3) relationship between perceived workload and job burnout of provincial police region 8 4) predicting job burnout by self-esteem and perceived workload. The instrument was a questionnaire and 388 provincial police region 8. The statistics used to analyze the data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson Product Moment Correlation, and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. The results revealed that 1) most of provincial police region 8 experienced a quite low level of job burnout, quite high level of self-esteem, and high level of perceived workload. 2) There was a negative relationship between self-esteem and job burnout with a statistical significance at .0 level (p < .01). 3) There was a positive relationship between perceived workload and job burnout with a statistical significance at .01 level (p < .01). Finally, 4) significance, physical demand, effort, mental demand and performance accounted for 61% of variance in job burnout of provincial police region 8.
