THE FACTORS ANALYSIS OF THE LAO UNIVERSITY GOVERNANCE

The core aim of this article is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the factors that exert influence over the governance of universities in Lao PDR. The study encompassed a total of 454 respondents selected from a population of 3,163 individuals representing entities such as the Ministry of Education and Sports, Lao PDR, the National University of Laos, Supanuwong University, Savannakhet University, and Champasak University. Employing a purposive sampling method, the participants were carefully chosen. Data collection was carried out through the utilization of a 49-item questionnaire, employing a 5-point Likert scale to gauge responses. The analytical technique employed to discern the underlying components of Lao University Governance was exploratory factor analysis. The research outcomes revealed that the concept of success serves as a pivotal driver in augmenting university administration. The researcher coined this concept as “SMART,” encapsulating the essential components derived from the collected data. Termed “Modern Curriculum Management,” this construct is articulated through the following elements:
S: Systematic and Equitable Human Resource Development
M: Management University System with Transparency and Fairness
A: Access and Participation of Stakeholders
R: Responsibilities and Assignment in Accordance with Quality Standards
T: Teaching and Learning Management, Monitoring System, and University Communication Channel
In essence, this article endeavors to delve into the intricate web of factors shaping university governance in Lao PDR, thereby contributing to a comprehensive understanding of contemporary academic administration paradigms.
