Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) examine cybersecurity awareness regarding hospital information systems; 2) investigate factors influencing cybersecurity awareness; and 3) identify approaches to developing effective factors that promote cybersecurity awareness. The sample consisted of 830 personnel at Sikarin Hospital who used its internal information systems. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and inferential statistics. The dependent variable’s composite score was calculated by averaging the mean scores of its four dimensions. Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression were used for hypothesis testing at the .05 significance level. The results showed that respondents reported a low overall level of opinion regarding factors influencing cybersecurity awareness (mean = 2.49). Among individual dimensions, attitudes toward cybersecurity had the highest mean (4.02), while hospital information system usage behavior had the lowest (1.62). Overall cybersecurity awareness was high (mean = 3.89), with tools and technology receiving the highest mean (3.98) and learning and training the lowest (3.80). Of the seven factors examined, four had significant positive relationships with and positive effects on overall cybersecurity awareness: 1) information security knowledge; 2) exposure to cybersecurity-related information; 3) attitudes toward cybersecurity; and 4) positive cybersecurity-related behavior.
