THE DEVELOPMENT OF MATHEMATICS LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT THROUGH MULTIMEDIA ON ADDITION WITH SUMS NOT EXCEEDING 100 AND SUBTRACTION WITH MINUENDS NOT EXCEEDING 100 FOR GRADE 1 STUDENTS
Abstract
This research aimed to: 1) investigate the current state of mathematics learning management for Grade 1 students at Ban Pang Paek School; 2) develop multimedia-based learning management plans on addition with sums not exceeding 100 and subtraction with minuends not exceeding 100; and 3) compare students’ learning achievement before and after instruction and against the 70% criterion. The population comprised 14 Grade 1 students at Ban Pang Paek School, Pai District, Mae Hong Son Province, during the second semester of the 2025 academic year. Research instruments included an interview form, multimedia-based learning management plans, and a 20-item mathematics achievement test. Data were analyzed using frequency, mean, standard deviation, percentage, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and the one-sample Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The findings revealed that mathematics instruction primarily emphasized memorization over conceptual understanding. Students demonstrated limited analytical thinking, inadequate learning materials, negative attitudes toward mathematics, and communication difficulties. The developed multimedia-based learning plans were rated at the highest level of appropriateness and achieved an efficiency of 74.13/74.29. Students’ post-learning achievement was significantly higher than their pre-learning achievement at the .05 significance level. Furthermore, post-learning achievement significantly exceeded the 70% criterion at the .05 significance level.
