Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) develop and evaluate the quality of a hybrid educational board game for the World History course for Grade 11 students; 2) determine the efficiency of the hybrid educational board game based on the 80/80 efficiency criterion; 3) compare students' learning achievement before and after learning through the hybrid educational board game; and 4) investigate students' satisfaction with the hybrid educational board game. The research findings revealed that the quality of the hybrid educational board game was rated at a very appropriate level (M = 4.09, SD = 0.75). The efficiency (E1/E2) of the hybrid educational board game was 82.00/80.33, which met the established 80/80 criterion. The post-learning achievement scores of the students were significantly higher than the pre-learning achievement scores at the .05 level of statistical significance. Furthermore, the students' satisfaction with the hybrid educational board game was at a high level (M = 4.19, SD = 0.98).
