VILLAGE ENTRY CONTROL SYSTEM VIA SMARTPHONE
Abstract
The control of residential access is crucial for ensuring security and convenience for residents. The Internet of Things (IoT) technology has played a significant role in developing access control systems that can be managed and monitored via smartphones. This research presents an intelligent village access control system utilizing IoT as its core infrastructure. The system integrates with smartphones to grant or deny access in real time through a mobile application. Additionally, it supports live video streaming from surveillance cameras, enabling residents to monitor entry points in real time. The system also logs and retrieves access history for security and auditing purposes. The key technologies used in the system include IoT sensors, IP cameras, Cloudflare Tunnel for secure remote connectivity, Python Web Server, and SQLite database for local and cloud data management. A prototype was developed and tested for operational efficiency. The experimental results demonstrate that the system effectively enhances security while reducing the workload of security personnel. Furthermore, the system can be further improved with additional features such as automated facial recognition and abnormal event notifications. This research has the potential to be implemented in gated communities, condominiums, and other areas requiring high-security access control systems.
