Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) examine the level of awareness of using the KU GenAI Platform for misinformation detection among undergraduate students at Kasetsart University; 2) compare awareness levels based on demographic characteristics; 3) investigate the association between regularly used media and awareness; and 4) examine the correlation between knowledge and understanding of misinformation and awareness. The sample consisted of 530 undergraduate students enrolled in the second semester of the 2025 academic year at Kasetsart University. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent samples t-test, One-Way ANOVA with Tukey HSD, Chi-square test, Cramér’s V, and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient, with statistical significance set at the .05 level. The findings indicated that overall awareness of misinformation detection using the KU GenAI Platform was high (Mean = 3.97, S.D. = .66). All dimensions were rated high: the importance of misinformation detection (Mean = 4.01, S.D. = .73), responsibility of platform use (Mean = 4.00, S.D. = .70), false information detection practices (Mean = 3.95, S.D. = .76), and roles in misinformation detection (Mean = 3.90, S.D. = .78). Awareness differed significantly by faculty and grade point average, but not by sex, age, year of study, or average monthly income. Regularly used media showed a weak association with awareness (Cramér’s V = .08). Furthermore, knowledge and understanding of fake news had no significant correlation with awareness of KU GenAI Platform use.
