AWARENESS OF ETHICAL USAGE OF KU GENAI PLATFORM AMONG UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AT KASETSART UNIVERSITY

Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) examine the level of ethical awareness regarding the use of the KU GenAI Platform among undergraduate students at Kasetsart University; 2) compare awareness levels based on demographic characteristics; 3) investigate the association between regularly used media and the level of awareness of KU GenAI Platform use; and 4) examine the correlation between knowledge and understanding of KU GenAI and awareness of KU GenAI Platform use. The sample consisted of 530 undergraduate students enrolled in the second semester of the 2025 academic year at Kasetsart University. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Statistical techniques employed for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA with Tukey HSD, Chi-square test, Cramér’s V, and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient, with statistical significance set at the .05 level. The findings indicated that the overall level of ethical awareness regarding the use of the KU GenAI Platform among undergraduate students at Kasetsart University was high (Mean = 4.18, S.D. = .58). When examined by dimension, all aspects were also reported at a high level, including prevention of misuse (Mean = 4.26, S.D. = .65), data privacy (Mean = 4.20, S.D. = .62), appropriate use of AI tools (Mean = 4.17, S.D. = .70), and academic integrity (Mean = 4.11, S.D. = .63). Hypothesis testing revealed that awareness differed significantly according to faculty and grade point average. In contrast, no significant differences were found across sex, age, monthly income, and year of study. Regularly used media showed no association with awareness. Moreover, knowledge and understanding of KU GenAI demonstrated a low positive correlation with awareness regarding KU GenAI Platform use (ρ = .323).
