Abstract

Shopping mall professional wear has long had the problems of homogenization and weak cultural expression. Meanwhile, environmental pressure from the apparel industry makes sustainable design a necessity. This study takes Xi'an Kaiyuan Shopping Mall as the research object, systematically translates historical and cultural elements like Kaiyuan Tongbao into the visual language of professional wear, and introduces sustainable design methods from the perspectives of modularity and life cycle. The research adopts a mixed method, it uses questionnaires, expert interviews and design experiments, and combines three theoretical frameworks including user-centered design, clothing semiotics and sustainable fashion to systematically analyze the needs and perceptions of employees, managers and consumers. The results show that symbolic translation of cultural elements can significantly improve the brand identity of professional wear, and the combination of modular design and eco-friendly fabrics can improve the sustainability and practicality of professional wear. This study provides an interdisciplinary innovative perspective for professional wear research, and offers a practical approach and theoretical basis for the cultural and green design of shopping mall professional wear in the future.
