MOTIVATIONAL FACTORS OF SUPPORTING STAFF AT SIRINDHORN HOSPITAL UNDER THE MEDICAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT, BANGKOK METROPOLITAN ADMINISTRATION

Abstract

The research entitled “Motivational Factors Affecting the Job Performance of Support Personnel at Sirindhorn Hospital under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Medical Service Department” was a quantitative study. The objectives were to examine the level of work motivation, problems and obstacles, and recommendations regarding job performance. The sample consisted of 172 support personnel. The research instrument was a questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The findings revealed that: 1) Most of the respondents were female, aged 31-40 years, held a bachelor’s degree, were married, were temporary employees, had 5-10 years of work experience, and earned a monthly income of 15,001-25,000 baht. 2) Overall work motivation was at a high level (  = 3.84, S.D. = 0.94). All motivational factors were at a high level, including achievement (  = 4.09), recognition (  = 3.96), responsibility (  = 3.84), and advancement (  = 3.57). The hygiene factors were also at a high level, including working environment (  = 3.99), interpersonal relationships (  = 3.96), organizational policies and administration (  = 3.66), and compensation and welfare benefits (  = 3.64).The recommendations included establishing clear goals and guidelines, providing adequate resources and support, promoting recognition and participation, assigning appropriate responsibilities, providing opportunities for career advancement and development, improving welfare benefits, and promoting a suitable and supportive working environment.
