QUALITY OF WORK LIFE OF MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS IN PHRAEKSA TOWN MUNICIPALITY, SAMUT PRAKAN PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aimed to study the quality of working life, problems, obstacles, and recommendations for improving the quality of working life of employees of Phraeksa Municipality, Samut Prakan Province. This quantitative study involved 147 employees. Data were collected using a questionnaire with an overall reliability coefficient of 0.97 and analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The findings revealed that most respondents were female, aged 31-40 years, single, held a bachelor’s degree, had a monthly income of 10,000-15,000 baht, and had 1-5 years of work experience. Overall, their quality of working life was at the highest level (Mean = 4.34, S.D. = 0.829). The highest-rated aspect was knowledge and competency development, followed by safe working conditions, career advancement and job security, and compensation, respectively. Recommendations included improving compensation and welfare, strengthening safety measures and training opportunities, clarifying work assignments, and establishing transparent and fair career advancement pathways.
