Abstract

Sustainable Innovation Marketing (SIM) is increasingly important as firms respond simultaneously to environmental pressures, changing stakeholder expectations, technological disruption, and stronger sustainability regulation. This conceptual article examines how marketing innovation can create sustainable competitive advantage when sustainability is embedded across the value chain rather than treated as a communication activity alone. The study employs a structured integrative literature review. Relevant literature was identified through searches organized around Scopus- and Web of Science-indexed scholarship, supplemented by publisher databases and official European Union legal sources. The search strategy used combinations of the terms "sustainable marketing," "marketing innovation," "circular economy," "greenwashing," "artificial intelligence," "dynamic capabilities," and "sustainable competitive advantage." Sources were screened for conceptual relevance, academic quality, publication traceability, and bibliographic verifiability. The synthesis integrates the Triple Bottom Line, dynamic capabilities, circular economy, responsible artificial intelligence, and anti-greenwashing perspectives. The findings indicate that SIM can be conceptualized through four mutually reinforcing mechanisms: circular value-chain design, transparent and evidence-based communication, responsible technology integration, and dynamic organizational capabilities. These mechanisms strengthen sustainable value creation and can contribute to competitive advantage and stakeholder loyalty. The revised Sustainable Innovation Marketing Advantage Framework is presented as a visual conceptual model. The article concludes with research propositions
