Abstract

This research The objectives of this study are to study 1) the socio-economic conditions in the Lam Dome Yai River area, 2) the participation and needs of the people in water resource management. And 3) solutions for solving problems in water resource management in the study areas in 6 districts with an area adjacent to the large dome. The data was collected by using a questionnaire on public participation in water resource management. Case studies of the Lam Dome large river basin, 400 sets  The study population was Water user group Folk philosopher Number of persons respected by the community, the village headman and 91,048 members of the local government organization, the sample group used in the study of 400 people. The statistics used to analyze the data are mean and standard deviation. By bringing the information obtained by the questionnaire Leading into a participatory meeting with a target group of 30 people / stage consisting of local community leaders. Folk masters, religious leaders and community representatives in 10 stages.

            The results of the study showed that Economic conditions Most of the population work in farming as their main occupation. Farming as a secondary occupation Have an income of less than 5,000 baht per month and have a burden and debt. Most social conditions live in the area for more than 25 years and do not intend to relocate. The sample group had 73.30% of their own holding land, with most of them having their own title deeds. In terms of participation in water management, it was found that the sample group participated at a moderate level. They take part in activities from time to time and take part in water resource management four to seven times a year. And there is a moderate need to participate in the overall level. As for the problems and obstacles to the participation of the people, it was found that the public problem lacked knowledge and ability to solve problems arising with water resources at 49.00 percent. Followed by the problem of water resource management. Cannot do it by yourself, must join other organizations for success 46.00% And the lack of knowledgeable leaders in solving water resource problems 44.50% The results of a participatory meeting stage To achieve sustainability, there must be a working group at the sub-district, district and province levels. In order to coordinate the request for assistance, the public must be an integral part of planning and reporting the need for an agency in charge of water resources so that it will meet the needs of the people who use the water.
