GUIDELINES FOR DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT SKILLS OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN THE 21ST UNDER THE SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE UBON RATCHATHANI AMNAT CHAROEN

Abstract

This research aimed to (1) study the skills of school administrators in the 21st century, and (2) propose guidelines for developing these skills, under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratchathani Amnat Charoen. The sample comprised 351 respondents (21 administrators, 330 teachers), determined via the Krejcie and Morgan table, plus 5 purposively selected administrators as key informants for interviews. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation for quantitative data, and content analysis for qualitative data. Findings: (1) Overall, administrators' 21st-century administration skills were at a high level. (2) Guidelines for developing these skills were rated high overall (x̅ = 4.19, S.D. = 0.68), with all aspects rated high. Ranked from highest to lowest mean: technological and digital skills (x̅ = 4.25, S.D. = 0.70), interpersonal relations skills (x̅ = 4.22, S.D. = 0.71), communication skills (x̅ = 4.20, S.D. = 0.70), analytical and creative thinking skills (x̅ = 4.18, S.D. = 0.66), and strategic thinking skills, the lowest (x̅ = 4.13, S.D. = 0.63).
