THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENTIFIC REASONING AND CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING FOR GRADE 5 STUDENTS USING PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING WITH BOARD GAME
Abstract
The purpose of this research was to develop grade 5 students’ Scientific Reasoning and Creative Problem Solving using Problem-Based Learning with Board Game so that they would have average score not less than 70% of total score, and there would be 70% up of the total number of the students passing criterion. The target group used in this research was 17 Grade 5 students of Mueangyasothon School, Yasothon Province, during the first semester of the 2023 academic year, using action research. The instruments used in this research were Lesson Plans using Problem-Based Learning with Board Game, Teaching behavior observation form, Instruction records, A student interview form, End-of-spiral Scientific Reasoning and Creative Problem Solving tests, Scientific Reasoning test and Creative Problem Solving test. The results show that: 1) The students had average of Scientific Reasoning for 17.12 or 71.32 of the total score, and there were 13 students or 76.47 passed the criteria which was higher than defined criteria. And 2) The students had average of Creative Problem-Solving Thinking for 21.82 or 72.35 of the total score, and there were 14 students or 82.35 passed the criteria which was higher than defined criteria.
