Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the clinical accuracy of clear aligners fabricated from Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol (PETG) material by assessing changes in dental arch dimensions using Geomagic Control X software. A total of 24 dental arches were included in the study. All participants were treated with PETG-based Smartee® clear aligners in cases involving arch expansion. Arch dimensions were measured: Anterior Arch Width (AAW), Posterior Arch Width (PAW) and Arch Height (AH). Statistical comparisons were performed using a paired-sample t-test to evaluate the differences between the planned tooth movement (TP-T0) and the actual treatment outcome (T1-T0). The results showed that the clinical accuracy of Anterior Arch Width (AAW) was the lowest among the measured variables, with an accuracy of 62.80%. Arch Height (AH) demonstrated the highest accuracy, reaching 69.89%. Overall, the clinical accuracy based on dental arch dimension measurements ranged from 62.80% to 69.89%.
