BUSINESS PLAN: NUMYEN CAMPING AND RESORT
Abstract
Nature-based tourism and leisure activities in peaceful environments have become increasingly popular, particularly camping and resort tourism that offers close interaction with nature. The global camping tourism market is projected to reach a value of USD 100 billion by 2026, representing a growth rate of approximately 9% (Krungthep Turakij, 2026). In Buriram Province, several popular camping destinations are located both near urban areas and in the volcanic mountain zone, providing tranquil natural surroundings and pleasant winter atmospheres suitable for relaxation. Examples include Hin Lek Fai Farm in Prakhon Chai District, which offers comprehensive facilities; Ban Suan Pha Hin in Mueang District; Plai Tawan Farm in Mueang District; and Phanom Rung Historical Park in Chaloem Phra Kiat District (Pai Duay Kan, 2025). In response to this growing demand, the Nam Yen Camping and Resort business plan has been developed to provide accommodation services that align with the preferences of modern tourists. The project consists of 12 glamping tent units, each designed to accommodate two guests and equipped with complete facilities to ensure comfort and convenience. The total initial investment required for the project is THB 3,500,000. The financial feasibility analysis indicates that the project has a payback period of 3 years, a positive Net Present Value (NPV) of THB 159,793.07, and an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 13 percent. Based on these three investment evaluation methods, the results demonstrate that Nam Yen Camping and Resort is a reasonably feasible investment project. The expected returns are consistent with the characteristics of the accommodation and tourism industry, which generally requires a relatively high initial investment while offering stable long-term returns. However, these financial projections are based on the assumptions established in the study and may be subject to fluctuations in actual business operations.
