Overcoming the Rural Education Crisis through Transformational Leadership
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article aims to analyze the role of transformational leadership in overcoming the rural education crisis in Thailand through documentary analysis and a review of relevant academic concepts. The findings indicate that Thailand’s rural education system continues to face significant challenges, including inequality in educational opportunities, limitations in teacher and personnel quality, shortages of resources and infrastructure, and socioeconomic constraints of families, all of which directly affect students’ learning quality. Transformational leadership is therefore proposed as a critical mechanism for driving the development of rural schools. Educational leaders are required to articulate a shared vision, inspire stakeholders, stimulate innovative thinking, and develop individual potential in accordance with the four core components of transformational leadership. Furthermore, school administrators should promote continuous teacher professional development, establish collaborative networks with communities, and appropriately integrate technology in alignment with local contexts to expand equitable access to education. In conclusion, transformational leadership serves as a key driving force in turning the limitations of rural schools into opportunities and advancing sustainable educational quality and equity.
