Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics for the Journal of Academic Information and Technology

Duties of Editors

  1. To ensure that the Journal satisfies international standards, and contain correct and accurate contents which are aligned with the objectives of the Journal
  2. To ensure that published articles are of high quality, and to ensure the anonymity of author(s) and reviewers during the review process, to prevent possible negative consequences
  3. To ensure researchers follow appropriate ethical guidelines in cases where human subjects, especially the vulnerables, are involved in their studies; such studies must be approved by responsible organizations
  4. To ensure that mandates from the Thai Journal Citation Index (TCI) Center regarding ethical assessments, code of conduct for Thai academic journals in the TCI database, as well as the APA citation style, are followed

Duties of Authors

  1. To ensure that a submitted article has never been published in any journal, is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere, and does not contain plagiarized contents
  2. To ensure that data, figures, charts, and tables are, where applicable, appropriately referenced; that data in the article was not taken from elsewhere without references. Where plagiarism is found and/or lawsuits are filed, the responsibility is solely the author(s)’s
  3. To ensure that rules and guidelines of the Journal are followed. In the case of failure to comply, the Journal reserves the right not to publish the submitted article
  4. Author/authors must understand the standard of the manuscript and create a quality manuscript
  5. If the article is from human-related research, the approval certificate of ethics in human research should be attached
  6. Authors must report only the facts arising from research, not distort information or provide false information in the manuscript
  7. Every author/authors’ name which appears in the article has to have a role in the article. In the case of a research article, all of the authors must participate in the process to conduct actual research. The author who submits the article must double-check the detail of every author correctly as the editorial team does not allow name changes after submitting the manuscript

Duties of Reviewers

  1. The reviewer should maintain the confidentiality of the article being reviewed for the whole duration of the review process
  2. After receiving an article from an editor, if the reviewer recognizes a conflict of interest with the author(s), which could prevent an impartial assessment and recommendations to be made, e.g., if he/she was part of the study or personally knew the author(s), he/she should notify the editor and refuse to review the article
  3. The reviewer should review only articles related to their fields of expertise. Considering the main subject of the article, if the reviewer deems that he/she is not an expert in the given field, he/she should notify the editor and refuse to review the article
  4. The reviewer must not assess the submitted article using feelings or personal opinions unsupported by credible data when considering whether to recommend an accept or reject decision
  5. The reviewer should consider recommending related studies or research articles relevant to the article being assessed, but which are not cited in the latter, to the author(s). Moreover, if parts of the article being reviewed appear to be duplicates of or similar to other works, the reviewer must notify the editor
