THE ROLE OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN ADAPTING TO DECLINING STUDENT POPULATION

This academic article aims to analyze the role of school administrators in adapting to the condition of declining population, which results from demographic changes and continuously decreasing birth rates in Thailand. The decline in school-age population directly affects educational management in various dimensions, including school administration, learning management, human resource management, and educational quality development. This study employed documentary analysis by reviewing academic research, scholarly articles, and policy-related documents. The findings indicate that school administrators play a crucial role in driving school adaptation through strategic management, quality-oriented learning development, efficient resource management, and collaboration with communities and educational partners. The article proposes approaches for strengthening administrators’ competencies to ensure sustainable school development in the era of population decline.
