About the Journal
Aims and Scope
The Journal of Applied Humanities Studies (JAHS) is a peer-reviewed academic journal committed to publishing high-quality research and academic articles in the field of applied humanities. The journal serves as a platform for academics, researchers, and practitioners to exchange knowledge, deepen scholarly understanding, and foster interdisciplinary dialogue.
JAHS welcomes manuscripts that apply humanities-based perspectives to explain, analyze, or develop concepts and practices related to human life, society, and culture. The journal’s scope encompasses two main thematic areas:
1. Applied Humanities
This section welcomes scholarly articles that explore the practical applications of humanities-based theories, frameworks, and methodologies in addressing societal contexts. Submissions may examine case studies, theoretical analyses, or innovative practices that highlight the relevance of the humanities in contemporary life. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
-
Religion, philosophy, and ethics in personal, professional, or social dimensions
-
Language, translation, and intercultural communication in global and local contexts
-
Cultural identity, heritage, history, and the lived human experience
-
Arts, literature, and creative practices that engage with everyday challenges
2. Interdisciplinary Humanities
This section encourages submissions that build bridges between the humanities and other fields of study, particularly the social sciences and applied disciplines. By integrating perspectives across disciplines, these contributions reveal new insights into human life and society. Suggested areas include:
-
Psychology, mental health, and human behavior
-
Education, pedagogy, and innovative teaching and learning practices
-
Social institutions, relationships, and cultural dynamics in changing societies
-
The intersection of humanities with fields such as politics, economics, or media studies
JAHS especially welcomes articles that demonstrate the role and impact of humanities knowledge in addressing contemporary global and local challenges. Issues such as inequality, identity politics, social justice, community development, mental health and well-being, cultural preservation, and educational reform are areas where the humanities continue to provide vital contributions.
