Abstract

Global environmental problems, including climate change, biodiversity loss, and waste pollution, continue to impact human quality of life. Education plays a vital role in cultivating knowledge, attitudes, and environmentally responsible behaviors among young people. This article presents a documentary study and literature review on the advancement of environmental education in schools, utilizing the Whole School Approach alongside effective supervision mechanisms to support policy development, learning management, and the creation of collaborative networks both within and beyond schools.

The study finds that the successful implementation of environmental education in schools depends on the integration of the Whole School approach, covering curriculum, resource management, partnership building, and systematic evaluation. Developmental supervision mechanisms, supported by educational supervisors as advisors and coordinators, play a crucial role in monitoring, improving, and fostering a culture of continuous development. This results in students possessing strong environmental knowledge, skills, and awareness, which they can apply in practice. The knowledge derived from this article can be applied to policy development, curriculum design, and expanding collaborative networks to enhance educational quality and promote environmentally conscious citizens in the long term.
