The research aimed to Factors related to debt repayment of customers of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, Khon Kaen Branch, Khon Kaen Province. This is quantitative research. The sample group consisted of 357 loan customers of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Co-operatives, Khon Kaen Branch, who are customers in the target area, comprising 4 sub-districts: Nonton, Samran, Sila, and Ban Kho in Khon Kaen Province. The research instrument was an interview schedule. Data were analyzed using the SPSS program with statistics including Descriptive Statistics (Mean) and Inferential Statistics (Chi-Square).
The research results found that personal factors and factors related to financial literacy have a statistically significant relationship with debt repayment. Particularly, loan customers with the ability to repay are mostly male, who play the role of the family's primary earner, despite having an education level lower than primary school and a marital status of 'separated'. Furthermore, the key factor that promotes repayment ability is having basic financial literacy, which leads to a positive financial attitude that views debt repayment as essential. This results in financial behavior, namely, the loan customers' knowledge of financial planning, which in turn leads to the relationship with debt repayment.
This research indicates a guideline for developing the credit services of financial institutions to be more effective. It can be used to inform policymaking for solving debt problems specific to customer groups and to provide flexible assistance to accommodate the impacts of uncontrollable external factors, whether from the banking, economic, political, or environmental sectors.
