Mobilizing Community-Based Partnerships to Improve the Quality of Education in Thailand

Abstract

This article presents a comprehensive blueprint for a significant transformation of Thai education through the reinforcement and integration of the 'Borworn' network—a traditional triad consisting of the Home (family), Temple (religious institutions), and School (educational institutions). By expanding this collaborative framework to encompass 'Communities and Strategic Partnerships,' the 'Borworn + Community' mechanism is established as a primary catalyst for local development.

The article highlights that sustainable educational quality requires a holistic fusion of local wisdom, moral ethics, and 21st-century skills. Within this framework, the community serves as an expansive 'living classroom,' while the 'Borworn' institutions act as the pillars for cultivating youth who possess knowledge, virtue, and the capacity for self-reliance. This approach ultimately fosters social development in alignment with the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy.
