Scouting Administration’s Conditions and Problems of Chiang Mai Municipal Schools

Abstract

        This research aimed to study the scouting administration’s conditions and problems of Chiang Mai Municipal schools. Data was gathered by using in-depth interview form. Tool and the exactness of the question in the interview were checked the quality by the experts. The population were eleven scout leaders of Chiang Mai Municipal schools. The content was analyzed and categorized, then presented as an essay. The results showed that,

        Scouting administration conditions and problems 1 ) Scouting operations clearly lacked in planning meeting operations. Determination of the role in the implementation of the school's scouting administration lacked a particularly clear identification and lack of documentary orders to appoint scouting operations systematically. 2 )Scouting administrative work was operating as required by the National Scout Organization of Thailand, but lacked of action in current. Scout administrative teachers had teaching workloads and other special tasks. Therefore, there were obstacles in the organization of information systems and the documentation of current scout administrative work. 3) Supervision of scouting work was assigned the roles to teachers responsible for organizing instruction in the Scout division according to the grade level, but also encountered problems determining appropriate roles which did not match scout qualifications. Schools’ administrators encouraged teachers to improve themselves to have higher Scout qualifications, but some teachers did not wish to join training in scouting affairs. The measuring and evaluating the results of Scouting operations was done in course-based only, lack of measurements assessing the school's scouting administration to apply the results in the following year.
