Effect of learning using 7E inquiry cycle about ecology to enhance scientific literacy of Mathayomsuksa 3 students

Abstract

          This study aims as follows 1) To study scientific literacy of Grade 9 Students in both before and after learning using 7Es Inquiry 2) To compare students’ scientific literacy of Grade 9 Students in both before and after learning with inquiry process using 7Es Inquiry. The samples of the study are seventeen Grade 9 Students of Bannonghuchang School in the second semester of 2018 academic year. The samples are selected as purposive sampling. The research instruments are lesson plan of Grade 9 using 7Es Inquiry Cycle on the topic of ecology and scientific literacy rating scale. The results are analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and t-test dependent. The results of this study are 1) Before learning with 7Es Inquiry Cycle, students have low scientific literacy in three competencies and overall progress. After learning with 7Es Inquiry Cycle, students have higher scientific literacy in three competencies and overall progress.          2) Scientific literacy in three competencies and overall progress of Grade 9 Students using 7Es Inquiry learning method is significantly higher than before studying at the level of .05.
