Types of Published Articles
JIBS is published either as research article or academic article.
- Research articles report original research findings in Buddhist studies, such as Buddhist philosophy, history, scriptures, practices, rituals, meditation, ethics, and applying Buddhist teachings in contemporary contexts. The research article should have a clear research question, methodology, results, and conclusion. It should also have a simple and brief discussion about the research findings, their importance, and how they contribute to the relevant field of study. The entire length of the manuscript, including references, should not be more than 8,000 words.
- Academic articles thoroughly examine existing literature on a particular topic within Buddhist studies, social sciences, humanities, and other fields. These articles critically analyze and combine the information from various sources, identify areas where knowledge is lacking, and propose future directions for research. Review articles have more flexibility in format and length than research articles. Typically, they are shorter than 7,500 words, including references.
All articles published in JIBS must be founded upon thorough and ethical research, maintaining the utmost standards of scientific integrity. The journal actively encourages the submission of articles that showcase inventive and unique research.
Publication Frequency
JIBS is regularly published twice a year in June and December.
Language
All articles must be written in English. Authors are encouraged to use clear and concise language and maintain proper grammar and spelling throughout their submissions.
