Abstract

The relationship between Buddhism and Thai society in the present era plays a significant role in daily life and development in many aspects of Thai society. Buddhism serves as a spiritual and cultural foundation that profoundly influences the daily lives of Thai people, particularly in terms of shaping values, ethics, and living according to Buddhist principles. Meanwhile, modern Thai society faces rapid changes due to technological advancements and globalization, which have impacted lifestyles and beliefs within the community. In the present era, Buddhism remains a central part of social activities, continuing to play an important role in the lives of Thai people. Despite the growing interest of some younger generations in technology and modern entertainment, Buddhism still contributes to fostering peace, hope, and building relationships among community members in many areas. At the same time, Buddhism encourages people to recognize the importance of mental development, learning to let go of suffering, and seeing the true nature of life—values that modern Thai society needs, given the social challenges it faces. However, the development of society in the digital age presents new challenges for Buddhism in terms of adapting to technology and communication in the online world. This requires adjustments to suit the changing context, with the use of online media to communicate core teachings and spread the Dharma to a wider audience. The relationship between Buddhism and Thai society today remains significant in various aspects, such as promoting virtues and ethics, fostering mental peace, and contributing to societal development in a positive direction. Despite rapid technological and social changes, Buddhism remains a powerful force in connecting people in Thai society, fostering unity and peaceful coexistence.
