Publication Ethics for Academic/Research Publications
The journal adheres to international standards of publication ethics under the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as outlined below. (Mostly adapted and translated from https://publicationethics.org/)
1. Publication Ethics for Authors
- Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts submitted to the Journal have not been previously published or are under review in other journals.
- Authors must strictly follow the journal’s guidelines for academic or research article submissions, including proper referencing in compliance with the journal’s standards.
- Authors must revise and format their manuscripts according to the journal's "Instructions for Authors", particularly regarding manuscript preparation to ensure uniformity in publication quality.
- Authors must uphold research ethics by avoiding plagiarism or misappropriation of others' work.
- Only individuals who have contributed to the preparation of the article or the research process may be listed as authors. Unauthorized names in the author list will lead to the withdrawal of the article.
- Authors must provide proper attribution for any content, images, or tables used in their articles to prevent copyright infringement. Any legal issues arising will be the sole responsibility of the authors, and the journal will withdraw the article immediately upon discovery.
- Authors must ensure the accuracy of citations, both in content and format, and avoid citing sources they have not read. References should be necessary and relevant, adhering to the journal’s referencing style.
- Authors must revise their manuscripts based on reviewer and editorial feedback within the specified timeline. Failure to do so may result in delayed publication or rejection of the article.
- Authors should disclose any funding sources supporting the research (if applicable) and declare any conflicts of interest.
- Authors must not fabricate, falsify, manipulate, or selectively present data to align with conclusions.
- Authors should not cite retracted documents unless the citation relates to the retraction process, and this must be noted in the references.
- Authors must include in-text citations and list all referenced works in the bibliography.
2. Publication Ethics for Reviewers
- Reviewers should assess manuscripts within their areas of expertise and academic qualifications, focusing on the importance of the content, analytical quality, and coherence with related research. Personal opinions unsupported by evidence should not influence evaluations.
- Reviewers must provide objective, unbiased, and constructive feedback in their evaluations, adhering to the timelines set by the journal.
- Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and not disclose information to unauthorized individuals during or after the review process.
- If reviewers have any conflicts of interest that may affect their impartiality, they must inform the journal’s editor and decline to review the manuscript.
- Reviewers should only suggest minor corrections to research article titles unless there are errors in spelling or grammar.
- Reviewers must not use any part of the manuscript for their own work.
- If reviewers identify any overlap or duplication with other works, they must notify the editor and provide evidence.
3. Publication Ethics for Editors
- Editors must ensure that the journal operates according to its policies and objectives, upholding ethical standards.
- Editors must address and take appropriate action regarding any ethical misconduct by authors or reviewers.
- Editors must manage conflicts of interest, such as significant involvement in their own article submissions, and ensure impartial quality checks by independent reviewers.
- Editors are responsible for evaluating articles based on clarity, relevance, and alignment with the journal's policies. They must select articles for publication only after rigorous peer review.
- Editors must not disclose information about authors or reviewers to unauthorized individuals during the peer-review process.
- Editors must ensure that articles published are original and free from plagiarism. If plagiarism is detected, the editorial process will be halted, and authors will be contacted for clarification.
- Editors must avoid conflicts of interest with authors or reviewers to maintain strict governance.
- Editors must not use any part of submitted manuscripts for their personal work.
- Editors must prioritize the publication of articles with robust methodologies and reliable results.
- Editors have the right to withdraw articles with unethical practices, such as plagiarism or falsification of data, even without author consent.
- Editors must allocate editorial responsibilities based on the expertise of editorial board members.
- Editors must oversee the accuracy of citations and references to prevent inappropriate citation practices, including undisclosed requests for self-citation.
- Editors must ensure transparency in processing fees or page charges, clearly outlining terms and conditions for such charges.
This framework aims to maintain the integrity and academic quality of publications within the journal.
