Abstract

The influence of Communist ideology and ideas has had a profound impact on modern Chinese art and literature, particularly after the Chinese Communist Party’s revolution in 1949. Political and social changes were reflected in the forms of art and literature that were shaped according to Communist principles, which emphasized the creation of works aligned with political and social ideologies aimed at transforming society into one of equality and fairness. The use of art and literature for education and ideology-building became a primary tool for shaping thought and fostering loyalty to the Communist government. In literature, the focus was on reflecting the life experiences of the working class, narrating poverty, revolution, and struggles for societal change. Works from this period often presented stories highlighting social justice and the challenge to old powers through characters symbolizing workers and farmers. The goal was to promote belief in Communist ideals and strengthen unity within society. In terms of art, Communist China utilized photography, paintings, and other forms of artistic expression to propagate political ideologies and Communist ideals. These artworks often portrayed heroes fighting against enemies and glorified the value of collective work for societal progress. This approach became part of building a revolutionary ideology and instilling pride in the social achievements resulting from the revolution in China. The influence of Communist ideology on modern Chinese art and literature not only reflected social and political changes in China but also served as an important tool for promoting the Communist Party's ideology and beliefs, which continues to impact the development of culture and art in China to this day.
